Day 2 recap

Today we ate luch with Susan who handles advertising for the office. We ate at a locals only type place, Clancys, you will never find it without a map. After luch we drove through the Garden District and walked down magazine street. For the girls magazine street has lots of shops, for the guys there are a couple of bars to entertain you while she shops. After that we went to the WWII museum. If you are ever in the area it is a must see and its not far from the french quarter so its easy to get to.

Dad, not sure if you were trying to kill us or not but you sent us to a very "dark" part of town in search of that bar. We were the only white kids for several blocks, we stood out just a little. Left and went back to Bourbon Street, good crowd but could still walk around, unlike new years or Mardi Gras.

I know I've said it before but pictures are coming. Tomorrow we head to Houston.

Day 1 part deaux

Well hand grenades are awesome!! I had almost forgotten. I tried to conduct a driving clinic the whole way here but have thus far been unsuccessful. People in Alabama should not have drivers licenses. Will try to get some pics posted tomorrow.
Ok well Bourbon Street is AWSOME!!! So much stuff in so little area and you can walk around in an open drink all night long. I love New Orleans... that is all...

Day 1

Well we just got into New Orleans. Drove a little over 500 miles today. Not much in the way of scenery on the way though. We were amazed though how much damage there still is in New Orleans from Katrina. There were a lot of neighborhoods and apartment complexes that were still completely closed or now abandoned. Our hotel is in the French Quarter though so no damage near by. Oh and we are only a couple hundred yards from Bourbon Street. Gonna relax for a while then go exploring. Might be some more posts later but we'll see what happens.

Day 0 part 2

Well we are packing everything up now. Kinda strange to know I'm basically gonna be living out of my bag for the next 6 weeks. Definitely looking forward to it though. This is definitely something I've never done and probably won't ever do or have the chance to do again. Oh and if anyone knows any places that we shouldn't miss on our trip post a comment or something and let us know.

Day 0

They're leaving for their trip tomorrow at the crack of dawn... ok, maybe not the CRACK of dawn.

Word on the street is the A/C in the Audi is on the fritz.... oh the ironies of life.
